1. What book gave you the creeps?
It by Stephen King. I haven’t even finished the thing yet, and it terrifies me! I can just look at it in my book sleeve and get shivers. I’m terrified by clowns anyway, so of course I decided to make it worse.
2. What book gives you the best Halloween vibes?
As silly as it may be, The Halloween Tree by Ray Bradbury. I was obsessed with the animated version growing up, and when I found out it was an actual book, I had to own it.
3. What’s your favorite vampire book?
‘Salem’s Lot by Stephen King. I’m gonna be super repetitive with my authors. Just as a head’s up. But I love the vampirism-taking-over-the-whole-town kinda deal.
4. What book scared you so much you had to sleep with the light on?
The Exorcist by William Peter Blatty. The movie is the only horror movie my mom has ever seen, and I consider myself kinda hard to scare. But this one…legit horrifying.
5. What’s your favorite book about witches/goblins/ghosts/demons?
Witches: The Wicked Deep. I think this is one of the more popular choices for this tag! But it’s so good???? Same with Wytches, the trade graphic novel by Scott Snyder. And Practical Magic. Because not all witches have to be evil or creepy!
Ghosts: Also The Wicked Deep. Because who doesn’t love ghosts of witches exacting their revenge on a small town?!
Demons: My Best Friend’s Exorcism. I loved this book so much, y’all. And the Teen Creeps podcast has so many good thoughts on it, too!
6. What book do you wish was scarier than it was?
Anna Dressed in Blood. It had really good moments! But I didn’t find it overwhelmingly scary. Maybe I’m just hard to scare?
7. What’s your favorite book that takes place in October?
There’s Someone Inside Your House! When talking to Stephanie about the book, I made some kinda joke about corn being important, and harvests taking place in October. There are some images you can’t get rid of, fam.
Since July’s only like, three more days, feel free to just consider yourself tagged!
