End of the Year Book Tag

I grabbed this from my pal Destiny, so be sure to go check out her answers! (Tbh, I think I’ve only ever done one tag before?) Anyway, it’s like, just barely October, so how can it be the end of the year? Well, it’s what I plan on doing the rest of the year. So, let’s dive in!

Are there any books you started this year that you need to finish?

Holy moly, YES. I have books I got from the Southern Festival of Books last year that I need to finish/start, too!!!! I mostly just have a small mountain of digital ARCs, and I KNOW my NetGalley ratings will go down because of it. But lawd, y’all, it is so hard to find time to read as of late while working four jobs.

Do you have an autumnal book to transition into the end of the year?

YES! Stephanie Perkins’ There’s Someone Inside Your House got me SO PUMPED for fall/spoopy time. And you can read my review of it here! I’m still waiting to get my hands on a copy of Alice Hoffman’s The Rules of Magic, a prequel to Practical Magic.

Is there a new release you’re still waiting for?

*glares at George R. R. Martin* Though, to be fair, I’m still trying to power through A Game of Thrones and then I’ve got the rest of the series after that…maybe I’ll get around to finishing those if this winter is as bad as they’re predicting???

What are three books you want to read before the end of the year?

Ready Player One, as I’ve been trying to read it since I worked at Barnes and Noble since 2014. A Gathering of Shadows, because it’s taking me TOO DAMN LONG to get around to it! And maybe Red Queen, since I gave up on it earlier this year and I have it sitting next to me at the moment.

Is there a book you think could still shock you and become your favourite book of the year?

No doubt that once I get to A Conjuring of Light it’ll be my fave. Unless I get to Goldenhand first. Even though it came out last year, it could be my favorite of all time. Maybe.

Have you already started making reading plans for 2018?

Not really? Mostly, I’m just trying to make sure I keep this blog at least semi-regularly updated and redeem myself from all the ARCs I’ve got from NetGalley!
